부산아이파크가 2019 FIFA U-20 폴란드 월드컵을 준우승으로 이끈 풀백 최준 영입에 성공했다.

최준은 현대고-연세대를 거쳐 2020시즌 울산현대축구단에 우선 지명으로 입단했다. 더 많은 출전 기회를 위해 2020년 6월 경남FC로 임대 이적해 6개월간 20경기 2득점 3도움으로 성공적인 K리그 데뷔 시즌을 치렀다. 부산은 ‘국가대표’ 김문환이 LAFC로 이적한 후 그 뒤를 이를 대체자로 미래가 유망한 최준을 낙점했다.

최준은 오른발을 주발로 사용하지만 좌우 모든 풀백을 소화 가능하다는 큰 장점이 있다. 현대고 재학 시절 윙포워드로 출전하며 매년 좋은 성적을 거뒀을 만큼 연령별 대표팀(23경기 3득점)과 경남(20경기 2득점 3도움)에서 꾸준히 공격포인트를 기록했다.

특히 2019년 U-20 폴란드 월드컵에서 에콰도르와의 준결승에서 결승골을 기록하며 FIFA 주관 대회에서 대한민국을 남자축구 사상 최초로 결승으로 이끌며 준우승을 차지했다. 클럽에서는 2020년 후반기 경남에 합류해 팀의 후반기 상승세의 주역으로 활약하며 팀은 K리그2 플레이오프까지 진출했다.

빠른 스피드로 정교한 크로스에 능한 최준은 “최전방에 키 큰 선수 상관없이 페널티박스 안으로 침투할 수 있도록 얼리크로스를 선호한다.”고 본인이 자신 있는 플레이를 설명했다. “처음으로 올림픽 국내 훈련에 소집된 이후 부산에 합류했는데, 어릴 때부터 함께한 또래 친구들이 많아 원래 있던 팀처럼 적응에 문제가 없다. 작년 아쉽게 강등됐지만 올해도 여전히 많은 팬들이 응원해 주실 테니 우승 또는 승격으로 성원에 보답하고 싶다”라며 각오를 밝혔다.

BusanIPARK have signed the u-20 national team full-back, Jun Choi.

Jun Choi played in Hyundai High School and Yonsei University, and he was chosen by Ulsan Hyundai Football Club as a priority nomination. A six-month loan deal in Gyeongnam FC made him playing more regularly and debuted while he recorded 20 games, 2 scores, and 3 assists. After the national team player, Munhwan Kim joined LAFC, BusanIPARK chose a great prospect player, Jun Choi.  

This talented football player can play both sides even though his preferred foot is the right foot. When he played in Hyundai High School, the player used to play as a wing forward and he played 23 games and 3 scores as a national team member as well. 

U-20 Poland World cup in 2019, he scored an important goal in the quarter-final against Ecuador that led this young Korean team to place 2nd position in the FIFA representative game for the first time. 

He is also known as good at accurate crossing and fast sprinting. According to his interview, he mentioned that "I love to do early crosses no matter the player in the penalty box is big or small". He explained it with confidence. "This is my first time after finishing term in Olympic squad, and I feel great to adjust a little in a team because I have many friends who used to play together." "Unfortunately, our team was relegated last season, but our fans will be always there. Therefore, I will try to love them back with winning a league cup or getting a promotion."
